Overview

Naches Peak Loop Trail is located in the Sunrise area of Mount Rainier National Park and follows a section of the Pacific Crest Trail en route to Naches Peak. The relatively flat trail meanders through meadows of purple lupines and other brilliantly colored wildflowers, and opens up to views of Dewey Lakes and Mount Rainier.  This easy loop trail delivers fantastic views for relatively little effort, making it a great option for newbies or folks with creaky knees. Expect lots of company on the trail, as this is one of the most popular hikes in the area. For the best view of Mount Rainier, hike the loop in a clockwise direction. Keep an eye out at mile 1.5 for a bench, perfect for a picnic with a view of Dewey Lakes.
