If my four year old son can do it, you can. Pretty steep in some areas with...
You'll have to pinch yourself when you see the view from the top of Rattlesnake Ledge. It's that good and we mean it. Clocking in at just a hair under two miles up and a high point of only 2,078 feet, you'll be pleasantly surprised to find that these seemingly pedestrian stats would yield such spectacular results.
The bald and flat Rattlesnake Ledge is easy to spot from I-90, and quite imposing once you get a close-up view from the parking lot. Don't worry, it's easier than it looks. Walk along the north and west side of Rattlesnake Lake on a gravel road to the trailhead.
It's all uphill from there, but very user-friendly with lots of switchbacks, places to rest, and glimpses of the glory that awaits you on the top. This trail is accessible year-round and very popular. Be prepared for crowds on a summer weekend. And keep an eye on the kiddos at the top. It's a long way down. Oh, and one obvious caveat: you'll need a clear day to get the view.
