Great family hike!

A trip report for Franklin Falls

Road Issues: Road is great
Trail Condition: Easy to navigate
Bugs: Not an issue
Snow Level: No snow

This was our first-time hiking as a family of four and after looking on Tmber, we decided on Franklin Falls. We liked the idea of a shorter starter hike for us and our 3 year old son and it having a waterfall at the end was great!! From getting the day pass online to parking and hiking, it was a blast. We got there at 9am and we got the last parking spot in the little parking lot. My husband carried our 1 year old daughter in the carrier and we all loved seeing the big trees, friendly people and getting off the trail to the rocks and water when we could at the beginning. The only tricky part was getting everyone down to the waterfall at the end. There is a slight cliff and slanted rocks that made it difficult to lead our 3 year down, especially with baby in tow. You just have to go slow and take it step by step. Once we got down there, it was beautiful and my husband and son went straight for the falls. We sat and rested on the rocks, had a snack and took lots of pictures and my son thought it was too cool. The hike back (down hill) seemed like a breeze. Great hike and we will go back many times!!

Towards the beginning of the trail there are offshoots for the rocks and river and this great view.

Clean, well taken care of trails, and yes, there are some stairs/steps.

Lots of big trees on the hike

Beautiful waterfall
