This super popular I-90 was definitely packed with people on a sunny Saturday. Fortunately it was still easy to find parking and didn't run into too much trouble until we'd completed the first mile. The rocky bits of the trail took a little time to navigate but definitely were still easily passable. Once you get to the top of the ridge, Snow Lake makes for a magnificent view - clear blue waters and forested slopes on all sides. While the beach area was a tad crowded, if you follow the main trail a little further there were plenty of places to stop and hang out. On the way back make sure you explore around the camping areas to find the abandoned cabin thats' still standing. On the way back we made the side trip up to Source Lake and were disappointed to discover it to be little more than a pond. :(
Still a great trip! Can't wait to go back and make it up to Gem Lake!
